To ensure safety and fair competition, all riders must meet specific clothing and bike requirements before hitting the track.


πŸ‘• Clothing Requirements

All riders must wear:

  • Long pants – fitted at the ankle to prevent snagging

  • Long-sleeved shirt or riding jersey – tapered at the wrist for protection

  • Enclosed shoes – essential for grip and safety


πŸ›‘οΈ Protective Equipment

Safety first! All riders require:

  • Full-face helmet – to protect head and face

  • Full-fingered gloves – any type, to safeguard hands

  • Clip-in shoes – allowed only for riders 13+


🚴‍♂️ BMX Bike Requirements


Bikes Must NOT Have:

  • Kickstand

  • Chainguard, mudguards

  • Reflectors

  • Front brakes or back-pedal brakes


Bikes MUST Have:

  • Rear hand brake – essential for safety and stopping power

  • Handlebar grips (including bar ends) – no exposed metal

  • Wheel size: 20-inch or 24-inch Cruiser, an 18-inch Micro Mini BMX bike can be used for younger riders.

  • Riders 8 and above require a transponder; these can be purchased from MYLAPS. The club has a limited number of transponders for hire on the night.
